Yellow class consists of Upper KS 2 children – Years 5 and 6. The children follow the National Curriculum, which is differentiated to meet individual needs. In class, children are supported through small group and individual activities. Individual needs such as VI, SALT, Mobility or Physiotherapy are addressed in class too, to ensure personalised targets are met. In the morning subjects such as English, SPAG and Maths are taught. This ensures that the children are in smaller groups and more intense teaching can take place.
On Tuesday, the class attend Forest Schools session which helps with team work, perseverance and facing challenges. The class will also have swimming lessons as part of PE, food tech sessions and rebound therapy as part of the supportive and enriched curriculum. The class teacher also organises enrichment opportunities linked to topics and trips out are planned in.
